Pricing

The math, if you’re used to a cut

A platform fee around 6% of bookings — a commonly reported rate, not one we’ve verified — comes out of your revenue: $15,000 a year on $250,000 booked.

Slate takes 3% of what you book, and the subscription is $0 or $499 a month — you pick. On the same $250,000, that is half the cut before the subscription is counted at all.

Migration & Setup — optional, one-time

We import your existing bookings, customers, and calendar, set up your resources and hours, and hand you a page that’s ready to sell. Priced by how much there is to move — we quote it before we start.

One rate, published, whatever you run: 3% of what you book.

Bookings paid on arrival, in cash, with a gift card, or anywhere outside Slate carry no booking fee at all. The full terms of the booking fee are in the Terms.

No trial — we migrate youUnlimited staff, every plan3% of what you book

There is no free trial: moving a live booking calendar is not something to do unattended, so we walk through it with you. Staff scheduling is unlimited on every tier — you’re never charged for hiring seasonally. Both plans are unlimited, so growing does not reprice you.

Questions

The things operators ask first.

What does Slate actually cost?

Two things, and both are on the pricing table above. There is a monthly subscription — Free at $0, or Pro at $499 — and a booking fee of 3% of booked revenue.

The booking fee applies to card bookings Slate processes. Exactly how it is collected is set out in the Terms — the marketing pages deliberately do not paraphrase it.

Is there a free trial?

No, and that is deliberate. Moving a live booking calendar is not something to do unattended, so we do it with you instead of leaving you to it.

The Free plan is not a trial that lapses. It is a plan you can stay on.

How long does it take to switch?

An afternoon for most operators. We bring your services, resources and opening hours across, and nothing goes live until your booking page matches what you already run.

What happens to the bookings I already have?

They come with you. Existing bookings keep their times, their guests and their payment status.

Can two guests book the same slot?

No. That is enforced in the database rather than in the booking form, so it holds even when two people tap Confirm at the same instant. The second one is refused and told the slot has gone.

Do I need to take payment online?

No. You can take a deposit, the full amount, or nothing at all and settle in person. The booking page works either way.

What counts as a resource?

Whatever you actually run — a boat, a room, a chair, a jet ski, a guide. Both plans are unlimited, so a twelve-vessel fleet costs the same as one.

Can I cancel?

Yes, monthly, and your data comes with you. Export your bookings and guests whenever you like, including on the way out.
